Blodsrit Biography
Blodsrit was created in 1998 with the intention of creating extreme back to the basics Black Metal simplicity. The band started as a co-operation between Kettil & Nazgûl under the name Skuggrike, and with this line-up one demo was recorded. Due to various reasons the involved individuals decided to go separate ways, and therefore the demo never reached the printing stage. This led to the change of name into Blodsrit, and Blodsrit was now a one-man project. In early 1999 the demo "Dödens Sändebud" was recorded and released in 25 copies. It has been sold-out and will never be re-released. Malaysian label Psychic Scream Entertainment got hold of one of the demos and decided to let Blodsrit take place on a split-CD with Indonesian black metal act Ritual Orchestra. This release was later to be known as "Storm of Immolation" and it was unleashed in early 2000.
The same year Blodsrit got contacted by French Chanteloup Creations (R.I.P) and a contract for one full-length album was signed. During the recording of the forthcoming album, Chanteloup encountered difficulties that made it impossible for them to continue their work and the contract was taken over by Adipocere / Oakenshield Records.
"Supreme Misanthropy" was released during the summer of 2001, and Blodsrit continued to create further material. This year it was a time for development and Fiebig was recruited on drums to replace the monotonous drum-machine that had been used until then.
To complete this line-up a promo-cd containing two new tracks, a new version of "vid livets slut" and a cover of Darkthrones "Transilvanian Hunger" was recorded. This recording was entitled "Secrets Unveiled" and was sent out only to promote the band.
In 2002 Blodsrit grew even stronger with the addition of bassplayer Saphanoz, and more new material was created. In co-operation with Oakenshield / Adipocere studio Andromede in France was booked to document the following album "Ocularis Infernum", and this studiovisit was arranged along with a small tour throughout France with the bands Crystalium, Nehëmah, Belenos and Himinbjorg.
To enhance the line-up for live experiences a leadguitarist was found in Yxmarder, and his motivation for the band led to the fact that he after the tour was seen as a permanent addition to the band. Early 2004 Saphanoz and Blodsrit decided that the best solution of continuation was to part from each other and he left the band.
In May 2004 Blodsrit once again hit the studios. This time the choice of studio fell on SoundLab Studios with no other than Mieszko Talarczyk (NASUM) as engineer. The result became Helveteshymner, the strongest album by far in the history of Blodsrit, released in October 2004.
In order to maintain a full line-up for liveshows a new bassplayer has been found in Brisheim who has taken the role as bassplayer in the band. The future is yet to be revealed...
